It Takes a Pilot, Not a Village
October 13, 2021
Former U.S. Senator and presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, wrote a book entitled It Takes a Village. I did not read the book, and I don’t know much about it. However, I know that it emphasizes the importance of institutions and government. Wrong! Institutions and government screw things up more often than not. This nation’s greatness is the result of free individuals making decisions. I am not denying that there is power in numbers. Of course there is. But the power comes from several individuals doing the right thing for the right reasons.
The pilot in this video may have provided the most articulate defense of liberty I have ever heard. About 95% of constitutional law professors in this country could learn a lot from this guy.
According to news reports and insiders, Southwest Airlines pilots started what is known as a “sickout” last week. Pilots called in sick or refused to accept additional flights, which crippled the airline’s ability to maintain its schedule. It is reported that this was a direct result of Southwest’s October 4th announcement that it would require vaccination of all employees.
For the record, Southwest’s “company line” is that the massive number of flight cancellations is the result of weather and air traffic control problems. It seems odd that weather and air traffic control problems impacted only one airline. But, whatever! It’s 2021, and we are talking about COVID-19 here. Don’t get bogged down in facts.
I have a small request for America’s pilots: please, save the republic!!
Commercial air travel is the life blood of America’s transportation system. If just 10 or 15% of pilots in every airline refused to fly, the totalitarian leaders of those companies would have to give in and reverse the vaccine mandates. Pilots cannot be replaced next week. If pilots quit going to work, planes do not fly. It’s as simple as that.
Perhaps this would embolden our truck drivers to join them in solidarity. Let’s see how Biden and his merry band of totalitarians feel when their overpriced food and gasoline can’t get to market at all. Let’s see a little mass panic all over this country, with empty gas tanks and no food on the grocery store shelves. Maybe Comrade Fauci’s little vaccination dream won’t seem so important anymore.
I have followed politics closely for over forty years. I have seen a lot of bad things happen from a distance, and close-up and personal as a Member of the Minnesota Senate. However, I have never seen anything that concerns me as much as the jack-booted thugs that are ramming regulations down our throats and vaccines into our arms.
Go Southwest, go!!! And please God, embolden pilots in every other airline to do the same thing. Make these totalitarians give in. The survival of our republic might depend on it.
